Our trips run in Lan Ha Bay, separated from Ha Long Bay by a single channel of water.
Lan Ha Bay is simply one area of the larger "Ha Long Bay region." When referred to in this way, the HLB region includes Ha Long Bay, Lan Ha Bay, Cat Ba Island and Bai Tu Long Bay. Many tourists prefer Lan Ha Bay due to its peaceful waters and relaxed atmosphere. The landscape, beauty, and karst formations of Lan Ha Bay are just as stunning as those found in Ha Long Bay. Lan Ha Bay also offers more exposure to local fishing life, and you're less likely to see as many tour boats and large ships passing though.
Although booking in advance isn't required, it can certainly be a good idea as trips tend to fill fast. In order to allow processing time, Booking Forms must be submitted at least one week in advance of the trip requested and must be paid at least 48 hours prior to the start of your trip in order to reserve your place. Otherwise, you're always welcome to come into our office on Cat Ba and book in person as long as we have space available. We'll do our best to find an adventure for you!
All of our trips are activity-based. We cruise through the bay on a large traditional Junk Boat to access our climbing and kayaking locations. In this sense, our trips include a cruise that takes you as far as an hour into Lan Ha Bay, giving a stunning introduction to the region. However, we do not run independent full-day cruises or sailing trips.
No. Lan Ha Bay is an island maze, where changing tides close passages and thick mist can develop without warning. Even with a compass, it can be extremely difficult to navigate among islands. For this reason, all of our kayak trips are guided.
Yes! Let us know what you need and we will work with you.
Vietnamese Dong, US Dollars, Mastercard, and VISA (and AMEX for online payments).
Our trips run every day, rain or shine, except in the event of hazardous weather such as typhoons. Because our climbing walls are sheltered, we can even climb when it's raining!
We provide PFDs for every person on our trips!
If you've checked out of your hotel, feel free to stash your bags in our office while you're on our trip for the day. If you're on one of our overnights, we'll lock up your gear when we close for the evening and have it waiting for you when you return to the island!
Yes. We have a safe in the office where we can lock up valuables such as cell phones, wallets and passports and guarantee their safety while you're on our trips. Any valuables you bring onto the trip are your responsibility to protect, therefore we highly recommend leaving all valuables at our office.
Let us know what your itinerary is, and we can probably work with you in order to arrange a modified excursion that will accommodate your travel plans.
